Aiphone GTV-DES202B FAQs
Do you install the Aiphone GTV-DES202B in NYC?
Yes, the Aiphone GTV-DES202B is something we install and service across Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island, and Long Island. Every job starts with a free quote. The 2-wide by 2-high layout suits an entrance with room for a squarer panel, so we check the mounting spot and the cabling behind it before quoting. We also look at the tenant stations that the panel will call.
How much does it cost to install the Aiphone GTV-DES202B?
There is no single number, because the total follows your building, the number of units or doors, and the condition of your wiring. Average NYC prices put an entry panel or power supply at $500-$1,500, but those are not fixed prices. The panel is one line beside the tenant stations, cabling, and labor. We inspect the property and give you a clear price before any work starts.
Can the GTV-DES202B replace my old GT entrance panel?
In most GT Series buildings, yes. We check your existing system and tenant stations first, then install and program the new panel. The real question is compatibility with what is already in the walls, so we look at the stations, the cable, and the power supply before committing. Programming matters too, since each apartment button has to call the right station. If something does not match, we explain what would need to change.
What warranty do I get?
The manufacturer’s warranty from Aiphone covers the equipment, and we explain exactly what it covers before we start. Typically that means defects in the panel itself, not damage from vandalism, water, or a power surge on the line. Our own support continues after the install. Knowing where manufacturer coverage ends makes it easier to plan for any service later.
Does the GTV-DES202B have a keypad?
Yes, it does. It’s a 10-key audio/video entrance panel kit, so visitors can call tenants from the keypad. We program it during installation. In practice, a visitor keys in the code for an apartment, and the tenant answers from inside. Programming means matching each code to the correct apartment station, and we test those calls before we leave.
How long does it take to install the Aiphone GTV-DES202B?
Most single-door or single-unit installs are finished in one visit, and larger buildings with many units or entrances take longer. Swapping a panel into an existing opening is quicker than cutting a new one. Cabling to each apartment is the biggest variable, since runs in older buildings are often hard to trace. We give you a timeline with your quote, based on what we find during the inspection.
Do you repair the Aiphone GTV-DES202B if it stops working?
We diagnose and repair the Aiphone GTV-DES202B, along with the wiring and power around it. A dead panel is often a power problem, such as a failed transformer, rather than a bad panel, so we test the supply and the cable runs before replacing anything. If a repair doesn’t make sense, we explain replacement options and prices first. Average NYC part replacement runs $500-$1,500, not a fixed price.
Which areas do you serve?
Our service area covers Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island, and Long Island, and the office is at 1541 E 46th Street in Brooklyn. On Long Island that means Nassau and parts of Suffolk. Suffolk coverage is partial, so a town far out toward the eastern end of the county is the case most worth checking. Customers in the five boroughs follow the same inspection and written quote process.
